ADVANCED​ LEARNING PROJECT

LEGO Filmmaker:  (grades 4-8) Students will write, build, shoot and direct their own LEGO stop-motion animation short film. Using either iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, or iOS’ LEGO Movie Maker, students will learn the basics of filmmaking, and video editing while they create and publish their own “brickfilm.”

 

LEGO Robotics: (grades 4-8) Students will build amazing custom robots using LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits. First-timers will get to experience the Beginner’s Course with a series of different robot challenges to complete. This class will introduce engineering, design, and programming principals. Intermediate and advanced students will have the opportunity to work on independent custom build projects.

 

*Both classes feature an emphasis on social development & interaction, teamwork and oral presentation skills.

 

**LEGO Filmmaker requires the student to bring a camera, both workshops require the students to bring a laptop computer (either a Mac with iMovie, or PC).

Cost:

$450 for each five-day (15-hour) workshop    

Workshops run from 9:00am-12:00pm
